Paying for a Trip

There are three options concerning paying for a trip or sending in funds for a trip to be selected later.

OPTION 1

Selecting a Trip Later

  1. You purchase Vacation Vouchers.
  2. Special Journeys sends you a receipt.
  3. You sign up for a vacation.
  4. Special Journeys applies Vouchers to the trip price.

 

OPTION 2

Paying in Full Before Departure

  1. You sign up for a vacation.
  2. You purchase Vacation Vouchers.
  3. Special Journeys sends you a receipt.

Is it enough to pay for the entire trip?

If YES: Special Journeys applies vouchers to the trip price, and you’re done.

If NO:

  1. Special Journeys applies Vouchers to the trip deposit.
  2. You purchase remaining required Vacation Vouchers.
  3. Special Journeys sends receipt and applies Vouchers to the trip price.

 

OPTION 3

Using a Post-Trip Payment Plan

  1. You sign up for a vacation
  2. You purchase Vacation Vouchers
  3. Special Journeys sends receipt and applies Vouchers to the trip deposit
  4. You sign a Post-Trip Payment Plan and it is approved
  5. You purchase remaining required Vacation Vouchers
  6. Special Journeys sends receipt and applies Vouchers to the payment required before departure

You can buy vacation vouchers at any time, even before you decide which trip or trips you want to select. If you have enough vacation vouchers to apply to a trip, all you need to do is sign up for the trip you want, and it>s paid for.

Within 14 days of signing up you need to make a partial payment of at least the deposit amount. THE DEPOSIT FOR A TRIP DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF TRIP:

  • Bus Trip: $100 (1 vacation voucher)
  • Flight Trip: $200 (2 vacation vouchers)
  • Cruise or International Trip: $500 (5 Vacation Vouchers)

Then continue paying for your trip. You can send a check each month or make whatever combination of single or multiple payments you desire. You control the timing and frequency of payments. Just keep an eye on the payment deadline date.

If you cannot pay for the trip in full before departure, you can apply for a payment plan. This interest free payment plan must be applied for and approved by Special Journeys before the payment deadline. With an approved payment plan, the required partial payment is also due by the payment deadline date:
60% of the trip cost if your money is managed by an agency or payee company
70% of the trip cost if you or your guardian manage your money

After the trip returns you pay the remaining balance covered under the payment plan in regular monthly payments. The vacation must be paid in full within a year of the trip’s return.
