Do you love trains, especially classic old steam engines? Then this is the trip for you to step back into yesteryear and enjoy the steam whistle, smoke and soot! We will ride on three different, historic railroad lines in the beautiful state of Colorado.

We will drive to Alamosa, Colorado for a ride on the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad. We'll travel over the majestic LaVeta Pass to the mountain town of LaVeta where we will eat lunch, explore the quaint downtown and then return back to Alamosa.

The next day we will ride on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. This railroad is the highest and longest narrow-gauge steam railroad in the United States with a track length of 64 miles! This line is operated by steam engines so get ready to see the smoke and hear the steam whistle. It features 408 and 310-foot trestle bridges and a 342 foot and a 366 foot tunnel on its route and traverses the border between Colorado and New Mexico, crossing back and forth between the two states 11 times. Lunch will be a train stop in Osier, just below the scenic Osier Mountain.

We'll also have a chance to ride the Durango Silverton Railroad. This railroad leads you on a 26-mile journey through the two-million-acre San Juan National Forest along the Animas River. We will get to experience the adventure of traveling by a coal-fired, steam-powered locomotive that has been running since 1882! We'll get a chance to step back in time and ride on the same tracks that miners, cowboys and settlers used in the Old West. This is a spectacular trip with amazing views of the mountains and canyons!

Don't forget about the other amazing stuff-great meals, time to shop, seeing other sights, and museums… but we know it's really all about taking some of the most incredible train rides for your life.
