Grab Your Peanuts and Crackerjacks for This Ball Game Tour!
Take me out to the ballgame… Make that three ball games! This year join Special Journeys as we travel to the West Coast to watch some awesome baseball games. We will fly into LAX airport and travel approximately one hour south to Anaheim, California. Here we will watch the Los Angeles Angels play the Seattle Mariners at their home stadium, the Angel Stadium. This stadium is also known as 'The Big A', and when we arrive there you'll see why that is. A large 'A' structure rises from the parking lot with an illuminated halo. So if the Angels win, join the crowd by saying 'Light up the Halo!'
The next day we will watch the Angels play again, this time at Dodgers Stadium in downtown Los Angeles. With the backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains, and swaying palm trees, we'll surely have a great time watching this ball game. Did you know that the Dodgers Stadium is the oldest ballpark in the MLB west of the Mississippi River? It is also the largest stadium by seat capacity, so we will have to make sure to cheer loud enough for the teams to hear us!
Next up on this ball game tour is Sunny San Diego. Here we will see the San Diego Padres play against the 2016 World Champions, the Chicago Cubs. We'll see if the home field advantage plays in the Padres' favor. Located in downtown San Diego, the baseball field is just steps away from spectacular Coronado Bridge, which towers and curves over the Pacific Ocean to provide beautiful views of the city. In between all our baseball watching we will check out some area attractions, such as Balboa Park, which is home to over 16 museums, gardens, trails and other recreational activities. We'll certainly enjoy some California cuisine as well because we can't only have crackerjacks!
And of course, we will check out some Team Stores to find the perfect souvenir to take home. Batter up! It's time to hit a grand slam if you're a baseball fan and sign up for this wonderful summertime vacation!
