Gambling in Blackhawk Colorado
Walking Level: Light
Signup Deadline: Monday, July 09, 2018
Wheelchair Accessible Trip
No Need to Wager on This Trip - It's a Win, Win!
Are you ready to gamble in one of the Colorado's most popular sites? Join us as we head to beautiful Black Hawk, Colorado a town with a rich history in gold! This special town started in 1859 as a gold mining mecca and set among the backdrop of the Rockies. If you like to gamble then this is your chance to do so in some new territory partner! Let's make the slots jingle and try our hand at blackjack. We will also see a show at one of the casinos and enjoy a meal at a mountain restaurant.
Your trip will also include some sightseeing in the mountains around Denver so that we can enjoy the amazing landscape of Colorado. They don't call Denver the Mile-High City for nothing! The city sits around 5,280 feet above sea level at the foothills of the Rockies. These spectacular mountains rise sharply from the eastern plains, which you can see from miles and miles away as we drive towards Denver. The rugged mountains are called home to many wild animals, such as moose, bighorn sheep and elk. As we wind our way up to Black Hawk from Denver we may be lucky enough to get a chance to see one in the natural habitat.
And since we are in the wild west, we may as well stop at the Wild Bill Hickok gravesite, memorial and museum. Wild Bill was known for his work as a gunfighter, gambler, spy and lawman. Once we are done learning about Wild Bill, we will stop for Mexican dinner, with a twist! We will dine at the famous Casa Bonita where we will also see daring cliff divers jump from a 30-foot waterfall, play at the amusement arcade, and watch one of their exciting stage shows where you may catch a glimpse of a crazy gorilla or see a gun show.
