Travel with us to the Mile-High City (Denver) on this summertime vacation where we’ll do a little bit of everything!  From shopping, to gambling to relaxing – your vacation is sure to spark some fun memories.

Once we arrive in town, we will have a step on guide join our bus for a singing tour of Denver!  We’ll learn all about the city in a fun and unique way.  We will then head over to Pearl Street in Boulder for a relaxing dinner.  If we are lucky, we will get to experience even more music as Pearl Steet usually has live music performers!

Our next stop takes us to Pikes Peak, the place that inspired America the Beautiful.  We will tour this breathtaking National Icon on a 9-mile train journey to the top which is over 14,115 feet high!  This striking mountain of granite was carved by glaciers over millions of years.  We will see some beautiful scenery along the way including all sorts of wildlife from foxes, coyotes, elk, bighorn sheep and whistling yellow bellied marmots.

Our journey up and down Pikes Peak will be on the Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway.  The railway recently finished a three year project to rebuild and bring the Cog Railway into the 21st century by rebuilding the entire journey from the track up – for the most modern, up-to-date experience. There is now state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure: three new trains from Switzerland, a new single rail cog system, an upgraded depot and gift shop and a new Pikes Peak Visitor Center where you can enjoy the amazing views at the top.

If gambling is your thing, you are in luck!  We will head to Blackhawk (population of 127) for a day of slot playing.  Blackhawk is touted as one of Colorado’s top destination cities located in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.  There’s over a dozen casinos to try your luck at and numerous restaurants to enjoy a delicious meal if you’re hungry for something more than the slots!

On our next stop, we’ll travel to nearby Golden to spend the day exploring the Wild West. We’ll ditch our bus and take a golden hayride around town taking in all the sites and learning the history of the area.  After a day of exploring, we will go panning for gold.  As John Denver would say, “take us home country roads”.

Back in Denver, we will spend some time doing everyone’s favorite pastime, SHOPPING!  We’ll head over to the 16^th Street Mall which houses over 250 stores that line the street making it a traveler favorite tourist attraction!  Bring your shopping lists because with such a medley of stores, you’re sure to find your beloved treasures. This place has it all!  We will end our day with a meal at Casa Bonita in nearby Lakewood.  Not only will you have a delicious meal but you will also be entertained by flying trapeze, artists and singers. No meal here is complete without some of their famous sopapillas!
