Accessible TripBatter up! Hit a home run with Special Journeys and join us for a Chicago & Milwaukee Baseball Tour. We will start off with a game at Guaranteed Field where the Chicago White Sox will take on the Minnesota Twins. This game should be very interesting to watch! In recent decades these two teams have played against each other 295 times. The Twins have won 158 of those games while the White Sox have won 137 games. BUT the White Sox win about 51% of the time against the Twins when playing at home. Whether you are rooting for the home team or the Minnesota visitors we will enjoy a great baseball game as we watch the bases load up and the home runs to fly over the outfield walls!
After that, we will head on up to Milwaukee to watch the Brewers battle it out with the Cincinnati Reds at the American Family Field. What’s so exciting about this park is that it features North America’s only fan-shaped convertible roof which can open and close in less than 10 minutes.
Our final game will feature the Chicago Cubs taking on the San Diego Padres at Historic Wrigley Field. Nestled in the heart of Chicago’s North Side, Wrigley Field is a living testament to baseball’s storied past. The second oldest park in Major League Baseball exudes a nostalgic ambiance – from its hand-operated scoreboard to its ivy-clad outfield walls.
When we are not watching games, we’ll indulge some authentic deep-dish pizza at Lou Malnoti’s. This famous pizza place has been a Chicagoland favorite since the 70s! We’ll also eat some “Dawgs” (that’s Chicago speak for hot dog) at Portillos, but please hold the ketchup. Of course, we will enjoy some tasty treats at the ball parks.
Besides eating some yummy favorites, we will shop at Woodfield Mall, an iconic shopping center with over 300 stores, restaurants, and specialty shops. It’s the number one tourist attraction in Illinois! There is a wide variety of items both budget friendly and not so budget friendly, so you are sure to find something unique! Over 27 million visitors visit the mall each year and you are sure to find out why. Another special treat at the mall is Garret’s popcorn – a wonderful treat you won’t find in your local area. Warning: it’s addicting!
