Join us for an exciting adventure to Washington DC and Baltimore. Watch history come alive on your vacation to our nation's capital city.

In Baltimore we will see the National Aquarium which is home to approximately 16,500 specimens and more than 660 species of animals. As a special treat we will see the Dolphin Show! In the Aquarium we will see fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles and Invertebrates. The current special exhibit is Animal Planet Australia: Wild Extremes where a flash of color might reveal lizards skittering across the ground, flying foxes leaping in the trees, a crocodile gliding into a pond, or a flock of lorikeets feeding on nectar.

While in the Inner Harbor area we will also tour the USS Constellation, the last all sail warship commissioned over 150 years ago! The USS Constellation Museum invites guests to discover life on board the only Civil War era vessel still afloat and explore the ship's maritime history. What a unique experience to stand on and touch an actual piece of history floating just a few miles from where the "Star Spangled Banner" was written.

After our tours we will do some shopping at the Harbor Place Mall and other nearby stores. Since we are in Baltimore we will eat at a Crab House (the local version of a steakhouse). The seafood lovers in our group will enjoy steamed crab, shrimp or "caught that morning" fresh fish - yummy, yummy! For the non-seafood lovers the natives offer plenty of tasty "shorefood" choices like beef and chicken.

Next our tour will move just a few miles south to the Washington DC area. We will see the White House and capital area. We will take a tour of the Capital Building. Then we will see the famous Lincoln, FDR and Jefferson Memorials. Then we will travel to the Washington Monument which is the most prominent structures in Washington, D.C. It was built in 1884 in honor of George Washington, who led the country to independence and then became its first President. The Monument is shaped like an Egyptian obelisk, stands 555' 5 1/8" tall, and offers views in excess of thirty miles.

We will also drive by the Arlington National Cemetery the burial ground of many American servicemen and of President John F. Kennedy, Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, world champion boxer Joe Louis and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Don't forget about museums - it's been said that you could spend an entire month in DC and still not tour all of the museums! Our first visit will be the infamous Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. This museum has hundreds of artifacts on display including the plane that started it all - the original Wright 1903 Flyer, the famous Spirit of St. Louis, the Apollo 11 command module, and a lunar rock sample that you can actually touch!

We will decide which of the other Smithsonian Museums to visit based on group interest. The other museums include the African Art Museum, American Art Museum, American History Museum, American Indian Museum, Anacostia Community Museum, the Freer and Sackler Galleries, Hirshhorn Museum, National Zoo, Natural History Museum, Portrait Gallery and the Postal Museum. Feel free to use the links on our website to see which museums interest you!
